ERIN LEAHY

CYCLICAL NATURE

Trees ache with feeling. They bow under the weight of meaning and memory. Every poorly etched heart leaves a scar on the trunk and the initials make the air around the leaves grow heavy. Leahy’s work explores the agency that people have over the world around them, as well as the agency that it has over people. Personifying nature does not bring it to life as it is already alive, it simply enables people to feel empathy towards an alien.
